Castle Stuart clubhouse
The clubhouse is a four-storey masterpiece giving panoramic views of the course and the stunning coastline. Inside it hosts a golf shop, bar, restaurant, locker rooms and a top-floor lounge. This clubhouse is pure class.
The design is a modern inspiration of 1930 art deco architecture. Mark Parsinen and his wife Dede were watching David Suchet as Poirot in Evil Under the Sun. They loved the building in the show so much, Mark called his architects and told them to recreate exactly what he had seen on TV.Range and short game area.
Castle Stuart also has a complimentary 350-yard Practice Range including a short game area and is just a short walk away from the Golf Shop. There is also a practice Putting Green located just beyond the Golf Shop next to the Starters Hut.
Castle Stuart golf course
This course is so spectacular and atmospheric it makes you feel you have entered another time in history, the stunning landscape brings up images of the days of Rob Roy. It has stunning views running along the tranquil estuary with views over to the Black Isle.
The Scottish open has been held there three times, most players do not regard the course as ultra-difficult or demanding but raved about the atmosphere and surroundings.
At every drive off the tee you get the chance to take in the views directly in front of you that seem to go on to infinity. There are no treelines to avoid or water traps, but plenty of strategically placed bunkers will keep you focused.
The course has been designed to be playable by golfers of all standards. It is generous from the tees, but you will need to play for accuracy on the drive rather than just relying on power.
The greens are sloping so it's vital to approach these from the correct angle if you want to stand a good chance of getting near the pins.
